Wow – what a beautiful summer we are experiencing here in Minneapolis. The temp has been hovering between 75-80 degrees fahrenheit, the flowers are in full bloom, from where I sit at home I see walkers and bicyclists of all kinds. It’s inspired me to get off my butt and get my bike out of the garage and do something with it!
My hubby was kind enough to get some air put back in the tires for me, and since I still have this aching foot to contend with, I was very happy he did this for me. Biking is about the only excercise I can do right now, and what better weather to be blessed with than this.
A few months ago I upgraded my phone to the iPhone and have had this facination with the apps since I’ve owned it. Of course I only bother with the free ones – there are so many! Well, I stumbled upon a great one the other day. It’s called “The Bike Computer” and what it does is log your total bike trip for you. Not only do you get your mileage, but you get your average speed, your fastest speed, and time it took you on your trip. When you are done, you can save your trip and it will upload to a special website where you can actually see the route you took on Google Maps. Really frackin’ cool.
Aside from the relatively short bike ride, I need a way better bike seat (any suggestions where I can find one cheap?) so I can increase my miles a bit more comfortably. I live a relatively short distance from the Mighty Mississippi River and hope to start challenging myself to explore the area a bit more.
Meanwhile, I get to kick back, get a little R&R before we begin recording next month and type on my laptop from my deck drinking an occasional beer or G&T. Ah, Summer…
Here’s the ride I took today:
Love this iPhone App!
